PUNJAB NAHIN JAUNGI
first I saw its trailer on the internet and it was beyond my expectations, I was pleasantly surprised by the glamour, music,cinematography and colossal set shown in the movie along with one song" 24/7 Lak Hilna". When I say you have got to watch all these things in a 2 minute trailer of a Pakistani movie it is kind of fascinating. I would not tell a lie if I say I watched this movie first show first day because of the trailer, I went to the theater with high hopes and guess what the movie didn't disappoint me at all.
It is a treat to watch, with a good story line as they say "story is king" PNJ proved it,
story was set in Faisalabad city of Punjab and Karachi and showed exactly two different cultures and mindsets. When the movie starts it shows green field of Punjab and by that looks it seems not less than bollywoood movie at least that what comes to my mind is watching 'veer-zara' scenes. story revolves around Fawad (Humayon Saeed) who s M.A Political Science and in his family his father (azam) mother (Saba Hameed) , grand father (suhail) his friend (ahmad ali but) his cousin (urwa farhan) and heroine( mehwish hayat)
story and few dialogues are very catchy like Good question, very good question
help me durdana (name of his cousin)
khagga can give you 70 marrabas and 1200 buffalloes
songs are very good with respect of songs in previous movies
my favourite songs are Ronaq e ashiqui and aye dil
story starts when Fawad returns to faisalabd after getting his degree and Amal returned to Karachi from england and his durdana(urwa) was in love with him. Fawad has been in search of his heer meanwhile his mother sent him picture od amal and he instantly fell for her they ask for Fawads proposal and immediately rejected by amal. story takes intersting twist and turns and somehow fawad managed to get married to amal. Khalil ur rehman story needs not to be overstated bt it has everything dialogues, command over langueage takes the movie to one level up.
it is not wrongly stated that it amals movie ..women centric , story dealing with larger isssues like discrimantion bases on language and provinces and prejudice about people belonging to certain part of the country. respect of women. amal standing against patrirchy which a shown in a very good way. her struggles to change the condition of dairy farm was one of high point for me . movies do make an influence and showing her doing that was marvellous job.
i liked the fact fawad and amals role were being perfectly portrayed by humayon and mehwish and for those are against humanyon and says he shd stoping doing lead roles should once watch this movie. it has one party song which ushna was a part of and one wedding song and in this wedding sog we found our item boy and i cant tell you how much ahmad ali but s looking cute.
and how can i forge about durdana played by urwa though i can not ignore the unfinished role of hers nonetheless 'help me durdana' stole the show. it was one of the thing i was amused of.
verdict:
PNJ s must watch movie . it highly higly recommended because of its story line , dialogues , songs and acting yes you read it write acting of the main leads is phemomenous and its is by far the best movie being produced in Pakistan this year.
